I know that I am so late to the party with this one but for the longest time I just didn’t care about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. I’d seen it all over the internet and I thought it was beautiful but I just didn’t feel like I needed/wanted it. However, the other day I walked into Sephora with my Mum and whilst I was getting the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomade, I decided to swatch a couple of the shadows on the back of my hand. That was definitely a bad move, because when I saw how buttery and blendable the shadows were I just had to have the palette. So, of course, here is my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette Review.

Shades
As a warm eyeshadow lover the shades in this palette are my absolute dream. I only really wear warm eyeshadow shades and I feel like this palette has pretty much everything I could ever need. As I’ve talked about before, I love the Morphe 35O but it’s huge and impossible to transport so it’s so nice to have the same kind of colour palette but much more compact and high quality form. You get 14 shades in this palette, 10 mattes and 4 shimmers and there’s a really great selection of shades for every purpose.
Pigment
To be honest, I was surprised by the pigment of these eyeshadows. They were not as pigmented as I had expected them to be. However, it’s something that surprisingly, I like because I think it makes them easier to work with. A lot of the shades are quite bold and I think that if they were super pigmented it would be hard to create more subtle looks but as they are lighter but still buildable I feel like there’s more you can do.
Consistency
I adore the consistency of these shadows and I think that’s really what swayed me to buy this palette. The texture of them is so buttery and silky and they are so incredibly blendable. I think this is where you really see what you’re paying for with an Anastasia Beverly Hills palette vs. something like the Morphe 35O. Although the Morphe 35O is still one of my cult beauty products, there is a clear difference in the quality of the shadows in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette.
Packaging
Of course, the packaging of this palette is beautiful . The box is made out of a beautiful lilac velvet material, its all embossed, it comes with a good sized mirror inside and a decent double ended brush. However, although I think that the packaging should be high quality and beautiful from a high end brand like Anastasia Beverly Hills, it’s not something that would really sway my decision to purchase the palette at all.
Price
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette costs £41 GBP, $45 USD and $55 CAD for 14 shades and yes that is a little on the more expensive side when you consider that you can get something like the Morphe 35O for $22.99 USD for 35 shadows. However, when you consider that a Charlotte Tilbury Quad is £39 for 4 shadows, this then seems quite affordable. As I said the quality of the shadows in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette is far superior to the quality of those in the Morphe 35O and on par with, if not better than the Charlotte Tilbury Shadows. Although £41 is a lot to pay for an eyeshadow palette, when you consider the quality and amount of what you’re getting, I think it’s pretty worth it.
I think all things considered the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette absolutely deserves the hype that surrounds it. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a compact palette go-to palette that fulfills all of my needs, but this palette is really becoming that kind of palette for me. If you’re someone who loves their warm eyeshadow looks as much as I do and you don’t mind spending a little extra for something better quality I would definitely recommend this palette. I hope you enjoyed this Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette review. Let me know if there’s anything else you want me to review!
This is a great review, it definitely gives me some information to consider since I’m still deciding whether or not to get this palette!

I’m so happy to hear that this helped! Maybe go into Sephora and swatch one for yourself if you can, that’s what swayed me. Thank you so much for commenting! xxx

Ah it’s surprising that you don’t find it very pigmented, I find mine to be a little bit too pigmented and the colour pay off to be incredible! Maybe I’m just a little heavy handed haha! Love your swatches and great review!xx

That’s so strange! Maybe I’m using it wrong or something? Or maybe I just had unrealistic expectations. Very weird. Thank you so much for commenting angel!xxx
