The last beauty-related post I did got a really good reception so I thought I’d do another one today. This is my current go-to makeup look, which I have been wearing constantly over the past couple of months. It’s a subtle warm smoky eye and a nude lip. I have linked all the products below. I didn’t want this post to be too long so I didn’t include the brushes I use for each step but their mainly the Zoeva ones mentioned in my 2016 favourites. If you want me to I can do a whole blog post about my favourite makeup brushes (comment below if you do).
I am a huge fan of warm eye makeup, it’s very rare for me to be wearing anything else. I really like wearing bright copper and red smokey eyes but when I first created this makeup look I was looking for something a little more subtle. I really like that this look isn’t too dramatic to be worn during the day but it’s also enough to be worn at night.
I start by using the Too Faced eyeshadow primer all over the lid (it did originally come in a tube but I lost the lid and had to put mine into this pot). I then mix the two nude shades from the Morphe palette (1) all over the lid to set the primer and as a base/transition colour. Next, I use the medium brown shade (2) all over the lid and blend a little bit along my lower lash line (it’s not as dark as it appears in the picture). I then take a fluffy blending brush and mix and blend the two orange/red shades (3) into the crease and again along my lower lash line. The final eyeshadow I use is the warm dark brown (4) which I pack only into the very outer corner and along the lower lashline using a pencil brush. I also use this same dark brown to fill in my eyebrows. I will then do winged liner and line my water line before curling my lashes and applying a few coats of mascara.

My skin can get quite oily throughout the day so I like to use a mattifying primer. The one I’ve been using for a while now is this soap and glory one and to be honest it does a really good job of keeping my shine under control. I use my fingers to apply it to my T-zone. At the moment I’m using this Sephora foundation which I was told was Sephora’s version of Nars Sheer Glow (which I love). It’s not terrible but I’m not convinced it’s as good as Nars Sheer Glow. I fake tan quite often which means I’m always a different shade so I’ve started to use these darkening drops from The Body Shop, I’m obsessed with them they’re amazing. My final face step is concealer for which I use the legendary Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I love this concealer because it’s amazing for both under eye circles and spots/blemishes. I use colour 1/fair for under my eyes and down my nose and colour 3/medium for my blemishes (I apply concealer with a damp beauty blender).

This is probably my favourite step of my makeup, I love all of these products so much. First I set my concealer and my T-zone using the Sephora finishing powder. I’m a huge fan of yellow-toned powders so I love this. I then contour using this sleek palette and a fluffy brush. I really like the colour of this sleek contour powder because it’s in between a contour shade and a bronzer. I then highlight my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, my inner corner and my brow bone using Champagne Pop (the Becca and Jaclyn Hill highlighter) which I am in LOVE with. Finally, I use (quite a lot of) my MAC ‘pinch me’ blusher over the top and I use this step to blend it all (contour, highlight and blush) together.
I stole this lip combination from Lydia Millen but I’m so happy that I did. I had Honeylove for a while but I used to really hate it because I thought on its own it made my lips blend into my skin. However, with Stripdown liner it looks amazing because Stripdown is quite a lot darker and less skin toned. I normally line and fill in my lips with stripdown and then put Honeylove over the top but mainly concentrated in the middle of my lips. I also sometimes will stop after the liner and wear Stripdown on its own because it’s so amazing.

For the final step of my makeup, I close my eyes and spritz my face with this L’Oreal setting spray. I picked this up randomly from the drugstore but I do think that it helps my makeup to last longer, stops me going oily and stops my makeup from moving.
