I’m sorry, I know it’s January 23rd and so this is a little late but I still really wanted to post it. It took me forever to decide what I could class as a year-long favourite and then to gather them and take pictures, but it’s here at last and I hope it’s worth the wait. I didn’t want this to be too long so I’m only going to cover the fashion and beauty items that I loved during 2016. Here goes:
Alexander Wang Rockie in Soft Black with Pale Gold – I decided to start with this because I loved it before 2016, for every day of 2016 and I still love it after 2016. I’m not going to say much about it because there might be a detailed blog post about it coming soon (wink, wink) but I got it for my 20th birthday, it’s amazing, can be worn with ANYTHING and if you’re thinking of getting it you 100% should.
All White Leather Converse – As I’m sure you can tell, these were stuck to my feet during the summer. Admittedly I didn’t wear them much in the last couple of months of the year (because of the weather) but these were probably my most worn shoes of 2016. I have the original canvas white converse too but these are quite different, I think they’re a lot more refined/smarter and they’re easier to keep clean. I also like that I’ve never seen anyone else wear them. I wore them with basically everything (especially jeans and bomber jackets) and they looked great.
Ray-Ban Round Metal Gold with Green Classic Lenses – I know that basically everyone has a variation of these sunglasses and I’m sorry but I love them. I’d wanted them for a while but I was worried that my face was too round to pull them off. In the end I just decided I didn’t care and I got them anyway and I’m so happy I did. I own 3 pairs of Ray-Bans and these are definitely my favourite. I think they just look really artsy and vintage (I’m sorry). I wore them all year round but they looked especially cute with every single one of my summer outfits.
Morphe 35O Eyeshadow Palette – This is another one that I’m sure you’ve seen everyone talk about but this eyeshadow palette is incredible. It’s so affordable and I love warm eye makeup so this is the perfect colour scheme for me. Now when I travel this is the only palette I take. For the price the quality (of the eyeshadows, not so much the packaging) is amazing and who doesn’t want 35 new eyeshadows at once? I also own 35K and 35W, I’m not as crazy about either of those (the quality is still great but I don’t love the colours) but I would definitely recommend 35O.
Zoeva Rose Golden Complete Set – I got these for Christmas 2016, I’ve used them every day and they are still in perfect condition, not a single hair has fallen out of them. This set was expensive but you do get 15 of them, they apply makeup like a dream and they come with a beautiful clutch that is amazing for travel. My favourites are the defined buffer, the powder, the luxe sheer cheek, the soft definer, the luxe crease, the luxe pencil and the wing liner brush. Added bonus: they’re beautiful to look at and look great on your dressing table.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish -These nail polishes are amazing. They are so shiny, really long lasting, very pigmented and don’t chip easily at all. I also really love that they don’t take forever to dry (I’m really impatient so that’s important for me). These are now the only nail polishes I use, I’m thinking of throwing all of my others out. My favourite and the one I wore the most was probably the maroon.
Phillips Sonicare FlexCare+ Toothbrush – This is my second sonicare toothbrush. I originally had the diamond clean but it broke and they replaced it with this one. These are without a doubt the most amazing toothbrushes ever. My boyfriend used mine a couple of times and was obsessed so my mum ended up buying him one for christmas. I feel like once you use one of these you can never go back to a normal toothbrush. My teeth feel amazing all the time and it keeps them really white. It has so many good features (you can read about them online) but the best is that the battery lasts for up to 3 weeks. I love this!
Garnier Micellar Water -You’ve heard me rave about this before so no surprises here. I used this for almost all of 2016, it’s the one product that remained in my skincare routine for the entire year. It’s really affordable and so good for taking off makeup or for a quick cleanse in the middle of the day.
I’m so glad I finally got this post out there. I really hope enjoyed reading about my 2016 favourites!
